Friends list status needs updating!
(For people browsing this thread, the first 5 pages are bumps.)

Nothing big (except wall of text), but something to organize your friends stats.

The display for your friends stats, in game status, and all that jazz is lacking to today's standards of quality. I have a few suggestions to make this better and easier to read.

First example. Lets' review the basics of this display system.

It shows his name, his level, his custom message thing, his wins, his availability status (in game or not), who he is playing as, and for how long. All of this information is pretty significant and fairly well done. Except for one thing.

The "Wins" only shows normal Summoners Rift wins. It should show either total wins or split them up by what games you played (Dominion/Twisted Treeline/Customs should be considered). The current system is very inaccurate and can give the "Oh, this player sucks" or "This player is new, maybe I shouldn't play with them" mentality to others which is why I believe it's time for a small update here. Additionally, playing custom games in "Under X wins only" or "Must have more than Y wins" is difficult if not impossible.

My next example, same friend showing exactly what I'm talking about. I viewed his profile, then clicked Dominion:

If this player had his Dominion wins shown instead of his 9 it would improve his overall player experience. My suggestion is to show the most wins a player has in this format. "Wins (Gametype): #number#" so an example would be, "Wins (Custom): 451" or "Wins (Dominion): 1034". Allowing us to change what is displayed would be cool, but honestly seems like overkill for features. Maybe keep things simple and show total for non-custom/bot games.

Lets move on to the next suggestion: On the first picture I linked (Here it is again: http://i.imgur.com/4OxTD.png ) you'll notice that my friend is playing a game. But that's it. Just a game. It doesn't say if it's a bot game, dominion game, Summoners Rift (ranked/normal), or twisted treeline (Ranked/Normal). It lets you know when they're in a custom game, but even then it doesn't say what map.

To explain in simple terms, the display of what game your in should be slightly more detailed as to what game you are playing.

But why? Simple. If my friend is playing a ranked summoners rift game I know he's going to be at least 40 minutes or so, where if my friend is playing a Dominion game, I should sit around and wait for it to finish because those are much faster. It also looks really really nice.

On to my final suggestion: The display of ranked stats.

Let's pull up an example: http://i.imgur.com/eFjV0.png

It takes up 3 lines to display the ranking for one playlist. It ignores what ranking he has in other less significant playlists and will display whatever is more important (from what I'm told). For example. If your rating in 3v3s is 1900, but your rating in 5v5 premade is 1300, it will show your 5v5 pre-made because "it's more important". If this is actually fixed and working as intended, then ignore this and move on to the last part of this idea.

You could easily mash all this information into one line. This is what we currently have (I'm using fake numbers and SR solo/duo as an example).

Ranked 5v5 Solo/Duo:
Rating: 1111
Win: 45 Loss: 45

It seems if you mashed these together you could save room and fit more space in there for other game type rankings. Here's what I was thinking (very quick concept, not a lot of work thrown into it):

Ranked 5v5 (Solo/Duo) - [Rating:1111] - W45/L45

This way when other ranked games come about (RANKED DOMINION WHERe?) it will be easy to add it to the display.

Ranked 5v5 (Solo/Duo) - [Rating:1111] - W45/L45
Ranked 5v5 (Premade) - [Rating:1341] - W24/L5
Ranked 5v5 (Dominion) - [Rating:1903] - W421/L317

It's small things like this that make big games great. If you don't focus on the small things even a little bit, you're going to leave something that had potential behind. Oh and, "a lot of small things make a big thing"

EDIT: Oh, if it's possible you should be able to spectate the games your friends are spectating. "Hey dude check out this game!" "Sorry, he's not on my friends list, I can't see it" <--Riot added this with the most recent patch

EDIT2: I have TONS of ideas like this. Every day I'm thinking of things that can improve player experience, but I only post one at a time because if I post them all I'd have to bump a lot of threads :(

EDIT3: A new idea of mine is now posted on the forums. [link] I will only bump one of the threads every so often to avoid being annoying. Check out my new idea :)

Looks good, this would be overall really helpful, I think.

Good suggestion.

Especially like this part:

You should be able to spectate the games your friends are spectating. "Hey dude check out this game!" "Sorry, he's not on my friends list, I can't see it"

Thanks for the input!
I just saw the new patch preview thing and I'm disappointed this wasn't in it :(
