Who should tank?
It happens all the time in random solo queue - You load into champion select and see that everybody else has auto-locked a carry or assassin. Is it your job as the last to load-in to pick a tank?

Why? Where in the Summoner's Code does it say that as the last person to load into champion select, you have a responsibility to pick a tank?

Short answer: Me.

Long answer: Me, because I always play Maokai anyway.

Well it all depends on who is in your team.. Sometimes you have 3 tanks in your team, because they all like it.. And mostly you have none..

I actually had a game recently where I was malphite (my common solo queue champ because I like his playstyle) and another player picked AP/offtank chogath because thats just how we roll, but honestly if you load the slowest you kind of get stuck with whatever role is left open, I mean sure if someone has filled the tank role because they love playing it then go ahead, but dont lock an extra assasin just because you dont want to be tank. Hell play a tanky DPS if you dont want a pure tank as it still gives your team a chance of success

Play who you want in normals, while you still can.

When ever this happens to me I wait a few seconds generally. I like playing the tank, but not always.

If your team tells you to tank after instalocking I would just pick who ever you feel like playing, if on the other hand no one says anything and you want to pick up the slack I would just go tank.

Either way you are not obligated to tank when your entire team decides to through team work and communication out the window.

You could be a **** and play AP alistar.

Yesterday I was Trio Queue with 2 other friends. One of my friends sacked himself as the tank and at last minute I switched to ali(who is and can be a tank, not just support) and was planning on just trolling the game.

All 3 of us ended up legendaries(yes 2 tanks) and I lol'd the entire game since I was just yelling random bull ****(Literally) the entire game.
